Born on the 4th of July, 1976 in Dubai, UAE, Saj Habib was the eldest of four children and the only son. His father, Rashid Habib, is a retired banking mogul with Citigroup. His mother, Anisa Habib, is a highly educated stay-at-home mom who travels the world learning new cultures and languages.
Saj Habib has lived and studied around the globe including Pakistan, Greece, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, Guam, and Singapore, just to name a few. He graduated at the top of his class at a private business high school and then moved to Boston, MA for his bachelors and MBA at Bentley and Harvard.
Immediately thereafter, Saj Habib was nabbed by Citigroup and was groomed to follow in his father's footsteps to continue to bring honor to the long line of bankers in the Habib family. However, Saj Habib wanted to carve his own career and destiny. "One day," Saj said, "I want to be walking down the road with my dad, but I don't want people looking at me calling me Rashid Habib's son. I want them pointing at him saying, "That's Saj Habib's father."
After multiple recruiting attempts by several financial firms, Saj Habib finally gave in. He saw this as a way to step out of his father's Citigroup shadow and begin his own legacy. He finally accepted a position with New Century Mortgage Financial Corporation. Saj Habib was chosen to head out the struggling company's retail mortgage operation, where he took the company from stock valued at $5 to upwards of $50 per share with multiple splits. He also brought in over $1 billion in wholesale and retail annual volume.
After almost five years of loyalty and hard work for New Century Financial, Saj Habib decided that the time had come to build his own empire... And MGM International Mortgage Corporation was formed.
